Here is my version of Frodo Baggins played by Elijah Wood in The Lord of the rings LOTR, a very funny personal project and a small personal tribute in recognition of the great team of talented people who made this production possible, Weta Digital & Wētā FX
The modelling has been done in zbrush with the Reallusion Character Creator CC3+ basemesh. The hair has been converted from Character Creator hairdcards to master curves in Houdini with my HDA, the fringe part has been edited manually to position the clumps better.
The clothes and wrinkles have also been created in zbrush. 28 UDIMS have been used in the unwrap process under RizomUV. Textures have been made in Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
The leaf-shaped brooch was captured with photogrammetry and cross polarization to have a reference base, then its topology was reconstructed and worked manually.
For rendering and lookdev I used Arnold Render (CPU) in SideFX Houdini FX Solaris under a USD workflow.
My idea for the future is to work on some expression and combine it with another travel companion that I hope you will see soon.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and if you see it appropriate share the post so that the HDA reaches more artists who can put it to good use.
Thank you!
